Japan Bell Spin Fibers recently developed a conductive polyester fabric that can be used to produce uniforms that are worn in dust-free workplaces.
Newly-developed conductive fabrics are made by adding conductive materials to the web. Even if they are repeatedly washed 100 times, they are also conductive. The resistance value is 1 million ohms per square centimeter, and the charged maximum potential is less than 50 volts, which can prevent static electricity. The price of this new fabric is about 700 yen per meter. The company plans to sell 120,000 meters next year and strive to sell 500,000 meters in 2004.
